Job Description:

We are seeking a Live Operations Manager with experience in the video game industry to oversee various teams, including Programmers, QA Testers, Support, and Backend Engineers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and executing live operations strategies, ensuring the highest level of game uptime and player satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the live operations team, including programmers, QA testers, support, and backend engineers.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute live operations strategies to drive player engagement and revenue.
  • Ensure the smooth functioning of game services by monitoring server health, load balancing, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Collaborate with development and product teams to manage game updates, patches, and launches.
  • Oversee customer support operations to ensure player issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
  • Implement processes to track performance metrics and use this data to improve live operations.
  • Maintain a close relationship with community management, ensuring player feedback is incorporated into game improvements.
  • Lead crisis management in the event of game outages or other significant issues.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and partners to meet live operation needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Business, or working equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within the gaming industry.
  • Strong understanding of the game development lifecycle, particularly post-launch support.
  • Familiarity with server infrastructure and network operations.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions quickly in a changing environment.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing live operations for online games.
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
  • Experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Trello, or similar.
  • Knowledge of customer service software and ticketing systems.
