Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Quality Assurance (QA) Tester for our upcoming title built on the Unreal Engine. Team management, training, support, and ensuring the creation / operation of a healthy and working QA pipeline will be foundational to this role. This individual will be responsible for leading the QA team in testing, identifying, recording, and resolving issues found within our games, ensuring the highest quality gameplay experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the activities of the QA team, ensuring all test objectives are met.
- Define the overall QA strategy, establish processes, and create test plans.
- Work closely with development and production teams to create and maintain QA schedules.
- Identify, log, track, and manage defects throughout their lifecycle in a bug-tracking system.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure the quality of content, features, and systems.
- Prioritize and delegate tasks based on the production timeline and project needs.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to developers about software usability and functionality.
- Conduct root cause analysis of defects and implement process improvements.
- Lead the creation of test cases and test scripts for automation.
- Utilize Unreal Engine to replicate and troubleshoot issues.
- Lead post-release/ post-implementation testing.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Design, or working equivalent.
- Proven experience as a lead QA tester in game development, specifically with Unreal Engine.
- Knowledge of QA methodologies and software development life cycle.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with bug tracking systems like JIRA or similar software.
- Experience with automated testing tools.
- Passion for video games and a solid understanding of the market.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5.
- Experience in a live service/online game environment.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Lua, or similar.
