Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and creative Game Designer to join our video game development team. As a Game Designer, you will play a key role in shaping and creating compelling gameplay experiences. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including artists, programmers, and producers, to design, document, and implement game mechanics, levels, and systems. This role requires a deep passion for gaming, a strong understanding of player psychology, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the creative team to conceptualize and develop innovative game concepts, mechanics, and features.
- Design, document, and communicate game mechanics, rules, and systems, ensuring clarity and alignment with the project's vision.
- Prototype and iterate on gameplay ideas, gathering feedback from stakeholders and conducting playtests to refine and improve the player experience.
- Collaborate with programmers to implement game mechanics using scripting languages or visual scripting tools.
- Conduct Playtesting with QA
- Provide feedback and guidance to the development team regarding gameplay mechanics, user experience, and game balance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Game Designer or similar role, with a portfolio showcasing your design skills and contributions to completed games.
- Strong understanding of game design principles, mechanics, and player psychology.
- Proficiency in game design tools and software, such Unreal Engine
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of game monetization models and the ability to design engaging gameplay loops and progression systems.
- Familiarity with user interface design principles and practices.
- Experience with game analytics and the ability to use data to inform design decisions.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality games.
