Job Description:
We are seeking a versatile Technical Artist to act as the bridge between art and engineering. In this role, you will develop tools, optimize workflows, and ensure that artistic vision is achieved within technical constraints. You will work closely with artists, designers, and engineers to improve pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and elevate the visual quality and performance of the game.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as a bridge between art and engineering teams to ensure smooth content integration.
• Develop and maintain tools, scripts, and workflows to support art production.
• Optimize assets, shaders, and rendering performance across platforms.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to art pipelines and in-engine implementation.
• Create and maintain documentation for tools, pipelines, and best practices.
• Support artists with technical challenges and improve production efficiency.
• Collaborate on lighting, shaders, VFX, and procedural systems as needed.
• Ensure assets meet performance budgets and technical requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Technical Artist or similar role in game development.
• Strong understanding of real-time rendering and game engine pipelines.
• Experience with Unreal Engine (materials, blueprints, rendering pipeline).
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, Blueprint, or similar).
• Knowledge of DCC tools (Maya, Blender, Houdini, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience developing custom tools or pipeline automation.
• Strong understanding of shaders (HLSL/GLSL) and VFX workflows.
• Experience optimizing performance for multiple platforms (PC, console, mobile).
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git, Perforce).
• Experience working on shipped titles.
